Description: Job Purpose The Welder will be responsible of interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, and performing high-quality welds to meet project requirements. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. Summary of Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine welding requirements. Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and arc welders. Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces. Perform welding operations in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as needed. Inspect completed welds for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications. Maintain welding equipment and tools, performing routine maintenance as required. Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Primary Areas of Accountability: Qualifications and Experience Craft Certificate in Welding Minimum of 2+ years of welding experience in a similar role. Good operating knowledge of welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs. Strong attention to detail and precision in work. Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions and environments. Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to welding. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
