RECRUITMENT ADVERTISEMENT Itezhi Tezhi Power Corporation Limited (ITPC) is a Joint Venture Company owned by ZESCO Limited and The TATA Power Company Limited to build and operate the 120 Mega Watt Hydro Power Station on the Itezhi Tezhi Dam of the Kafue River in Itezhi Tezhi District. The company seeks to recruit a suitably qualified candidate for the position of Mechanical Engineer to be based at the Itezhi Tezhi Hydropower Station in Itezhi Tezhi District. Job Summary • Ensure efficient operation of hydro power plant assets by effective maintenance methodology and Coordination to ensure that works are completed in accordance to integrated maintenance schedules. Regularly monitor condition of plant critical equipment’s. Carryout analysis of abnormal trends and ensure routine diagnostic testing of mechanical hydraulic system components. Confer with technologists & other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, & provide technical information. Conduct regular training for the team, to ensure they are up to date. Investigate equipment failures & tripping to diagnose faulty operations and to make recommendations through comprehensive breakdown analysis report. Aswell as attend plant defects in optimum time. Implement document and record management with reference to ISO systems to manage performance of department. Ensure critical spares are always available as per identified quantity & continually review and update the critical spares list in order to achieve minimum downtime of equipment. Knowledge and Skills Full Grade 12 Certificate Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Current membership to the Engineering Institute of Zambia. Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience: Ten years’ post qualifying experience in Mechanical Maintenance in Hydro Power Plant Shall have good understanding of Erection commissioning, operation & maintenance of turbine generator units & governing systems, main inlet valves, surge shaft gate, intake gate, compressed air system, cooling water system, firefighting system of power plant Shall have good knowledge of safety aspects of mechanical and hydraulic systems 4.0 NOTE ITPC is an equal opportunity employer-female candidates are encouraged to apply The position is based at the Hydropower Plant in Itezhi Tezhi District.
