NIGHT SECURITY GUARD

The night security guard protects Company property during night hours by patrolling, monitoring surveillance systems, and securing entry points to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access. The security guard will often work alone or with small teams, acting as first responder to emergencies like thefts, alarms or fires. Key duties include checking doors/gate and documenting incidents. Essential Job FunctionsPatrolling: Conducting regular, irregular, and systematic patrols of Company premises to detect intruders or safety hazards (e.g., unlocked doors, fire risks).Surveillance: Monitoring CCTV cameras, security alarm systems, and controlling access for staff or authorized visitors.Access Control: Locking and unlocking building, managing visitor entry, and inspecting trucks or vehicles during evening hours.Emergency Response: Responding to alarms, investigating disturbances, and contacting police or fire departments if necessary.Reporting: Maintaining detailed, written logs of activities, security checks, and any incidents that occur during the shift. Key Requirements & SkillsObservation: High level of alertness and ability to detect suspicious behavior.Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods and patrol in the dark.Reliability: Capability to work alone or with a small team and remain vigilant while others are asleep.Combat fitness: Strong physical fitness for managing confrontations.Common Working ConditionsShift Hours: Typically 8–12 hour shifts, often ranging from 18:00hrs to 05: 00 hrs the next morning or similar overnight schedules.Environment: Frequently working alone or with a small team in quiet, dark, or isolated environments.Qualification-No school qualification needed but a Grade 12 School Certificate or diploma or degree in any field will be an added advantage.-Physically fit to work as a security guard at night with vivid alertness and responsiveness.-Aged above 25 years with no criminal record (police finger prints to prove this).How to applyPlease send your typed or hand written application to careers@wood-works.co.za or come in person.
