We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic to join our workshop team in Kapiri Mposhi. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining trucks, trailers, and other fleet vehicles to ensure maximum reliability and operational efficiency. ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Carry out diagnosis, repair, and servicing of trucks, trailers, and other fleet vehicles in accordance with company standards. Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, and general inspections. Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections on all assigned vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoot and identify mechanical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment. Replace worn-out or damaged mechanical parts and ensure all repairs are completed efficiently. Conduct performance testing and assessments after repairs to ensure equipment reliability and roadworthiness. Ensure all work is completed within the required turnaround time while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping standards within the workshop area. Ensure compliance with company HSEQ policies and all safety procedures while carrying out repairs and maintenance. Properly utilize and safeguard workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments. Report major mechanical faults, recurring breakdowns, and maintenance concerns to management promptly. Support breakdown, response, and recovery operations as required. Mentor junior mechanics and assist in building technical capacity within the workshop team. Ensure accurate job card completion and maintenance records are updated accordingly. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanics from a reputable institution Three (3) to five (5) years proven experience as a Light Mechanic in a truck workshop environment. Valid ZAQA Verification Certificate. Ability to operate all tools and equipment used within the mechanical department. Strong knowledge of truck mechanical systems, maintenance, and repair procedures. Ability to diagnose faults accurately and provide effective repair solutions. Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections independently. Good understanding of workshop safety procedures and standards. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Good communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge and experience in Foton Trucks, Sino Trucks, and Henreds trailer repairs will be an added advantage.
