The Logistics Manager will oversee and manage the entire trucking logistics function, ensuring efficient fleet operations, timely deliveries, and compliance with transport regulations. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise to optimize resources, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in logistics management, trucking operations, and supply chain coordination, with proven ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence. Strategic Planning & Operations Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize fleet utilization and delivery efficiency. Plan and coordinate trucking schedules, routes, and dispatch operations. Monitor daily fleet operations to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. Oversee logistics performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all trucks are maintained in roadworthy condition and meet regulatory standards. Manage fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and spare parts inventory. Oversee driver allocation, performance, and compliance with company policies. Implement fleet management systems to track vehicle movements and performance. Prepare and manage logistics budgets, including fuel, maintenance, and driver allowances. Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for savings. Generate periodic financial and operational reports for senior management. Ensure compliance with transport laws, safety regulations, and company standards. Conduct regular safety audits and enforce health and safety policies. Train drivers and logistics staff on safety procedures and customer service standards. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and supervise logistics staff, including drivers and dispatch officers. Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship for professional growth. Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to align logistics with business goals. Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities. Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in the trucking industry. Strong knowledge of fleet operations, transport regulations, and supply chain processes. Proficiency in logistics software, fleet management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
