Follow Our client a well-established and progressive commercial farming operation in Zambia’s Mkushi Farm Block is seeking to appoint a Junior or Senior Farm Manager to join its experienced management team. The business operates a diversified cropping enterprise of approximately 4,000 hectares, producing seed maize, commercial maize, wheat, soya beans, cover crops and onions. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious agricultural professional looking to further their career within a dynamic and expanding commercial farming environment. Working alongside an experienced management team, the successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day management of a large-scale commercial farming operation. A key component of the role will involve supporting the production, storage and marketing of onions during the horticultural season, while contributing to the management of the broader cropping programme throughout the remainder of the year. Assist with the planning and execution of commercial cropping programmes. Support onion production, harvesting, storage and marketing activities. Oversee field operations including planting, irrigation, fertiliser application and crop protection. Monitor crop performance and recommend improvements to maximise yields. Supervise and motivate farm employees. Assist with machinery planning and operational logistics. Ensure accurate production records are maintained. Support health, safety and environmental compliance. Work collaboratively with the management team to achieve production targets. Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Production, Horticulture or a related discipline. Practical commercial farming experience. Experience in horticultural production, particularly onions, will be a distinct advantage. Good understanding of commercial farming systems within Africa. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills. Hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving abilities. Candidates with 5–10 years’ commercial farming experience are encouraged to apply.
