Follow Department: Engineering / Electrical Maintenance Reports To: Electrical Supervisor / Engineering Manager To install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and systems in underground mining operations, ensuring maximum equipment availability and compliance with electrical safety standards.Zambia job market · Install, maintain and repair underground electrical equipment and systems. · Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance. · Diagnose electrical faults and undertake repairs. · Maintain underground power distribution systems. · Inspect electrical installations and identify potential hazards. · Conduct testing and isolation of electrical equipment in accordance with approved procedures. · Maintain electrical equipment, cables, switchgear, motors and related installations. · Ensure electrical work is conducted in accordance with approved mine procedures. · Complete maintenance records and report equipment defects. · Participate in planned maintenance shutdowns. · Assist with emergency electrical breakdowns. · Maintain good housekeeping in electrical work areas.Full-time job listings · Comply with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and electrical isolation procedures. · Participate in toolbox meetings and safety programmes. · Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor. · Craft Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. · Valid electrical trade qualification. · Relevant professional registration/certification where applicable. · Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an underground mining environment. · Strong knowledge of industrial/underground electrical systems. · Knowledge of mine electrical safety and isolation procedures. · Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings. · Physically fit and able to work underground and on a shift basis. · Certified Grade 12 Certificate. · Certified Electrical Trade Certificate/Craft Certificate/Diploma. · Relevant professional registration/licence. · Relevant electrical and mining safety certificates. · Valid Silicosis Medical Examination Certificate. · Contact details for at least three traceable referees. GENERAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS For all three positions, candidates must: · Be medically fit to work in an underground mining environment. · Be willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays where required. · Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards. · Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary mining team. · Comply with all LC&Y Chibuluma Mine PLC policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
