Follow The Business Development Coordinator will be responsible for driving the growth, visibility, and commercial success of the law firm through strategic client acquisition, retention, brand positioning, and market expansion initiatives. The role requires a strong understanding of legal services, client relationship management, and professional ethics, ensuring that all business development activities comply with applicable legal practice rules and advertising restrictions. Summary of Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the firm’s business development strategy aligned with its practice areas and growth objectives. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate clients, institutions, and high-value individuals. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and emerging sectors. Prepare and execute client acquisition plans and sector-focused strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Coordinate and support client meetings, pitches, and presentations. Develop client retention strategies and ensure high levels of client satisfaction. Oversee the firm’s branding, visibility, and public image in line with professional regulations. Manage marketing materials, including brochures, profiles, legal updates, and newsletters. Coordinate digital presence, including website and professional social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn). Ensure all marketing activities comply with legal advertising rules and ethical standards. Collaborate with partners and associates to develop competitive fee proposals and engagement strategies. Organize and coordinate client events, seminars, and legal workshops. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and business forums. Build relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, corporates, and professional bodies. Required Skills and Competencies Strong commercial awareness and understanding of legal services Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High-level negotiation and persuasion skills Strategic thinking and analytical ability Strong organizational and project management skills Professional integrity and understanding of legal ethics Ability to work with senior professionals (partners, clients, executives) Primary Areas of Accountability: Degree in Business Administration/ Marketing/ Law / Economics or related field Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in Business development, marketing, or client relations Preferably within a law firm or professional services environment Demonstrated experience in Managing client relationships, preparing proposals and tenders and Driving revenue growth Knowledge of legal practice frameworks and professional regulations will be a plus Must be a member of relevant professional body (ZIM)
