Underwriter / Data Entry Operator

WE ARE HIRING UNDERWRITER / DATA ENTRY OPERATOR Company: Venture Holding Limited (VHL) Location: Lusaka, Zambia Industry: Insurance Broking Employment Type: Full-Time Venture Holding Limited is looking for an Underwriter / Data Entry Operator with practical experience working with Smart Policy insurance software. The successful candidate will support the company’s day-to-day insurance operations, underwriting administration, policy processing and accurate maintenance of insurance records. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Enter and update client, policy and insurance information accurately in Smart Policy. Prepare and process quotations, policies, endorsements, renewals and related insurance documentation. Assist with underwriting and placement of general insurance business. Review proposal forms and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy. Liaise with insurers to obtain quotations, policy documents and endorsements. Maintain accurate premium, policy and client records. Monitor policy expiry dates and assist with renewal follow-ups. Prepare debit notes, schedules and other insurance documentation. Maintain proper electronic and physical filing of insurance records. Verify information entered into the system and correct discrepancies promptly. Assist the operations team with reports and other insurance administration duties. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Diploma/Degree or relevant qualification in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance or a related field. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in insurance underwriting, broking operations or policy administration. Previous hands-on experience using Smart Policy is highly preferred. Good understanding of general insurance products, including Motor, Fire, Accident, Engineering and other classes of insurance. Experience in quotations, endorsements, renewals and policy processing will be an advantage. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and general computer applications. KEY SKILLS The candidate should be: Fast and accurate in data entry. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Familiar with insurance terminology and documentation. Able to work with minimal supervision. Organized and capable of handling multiple policies and deadlines. Good at communicating with clients, insurers and colleagues. Comfortable working with both insurance systems and digital platforms.
