Role Overview
The Country Butchery Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for more than
40 in-store butcheries across Zambia. This senior role requires a proven track record in managing
multiple retail butcheries, with strong expertise in recipe development, product innovation, and large
scale team management. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure product
quality and consistency, and deliver innovative butchery solutions that enhance customer satisfaction
and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational Leadership
o Oversee butchery operations across 40+ retail outlets nationwide.
o Ensure consistent product quality, hygiene, and compliance with food safety standards.
o Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Recipe Development & Product Innovation
o Lead recipe development and introduce new product lines tailored to customer
preferences.
o Collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams to design promotional campaigns.
o Monitor market trends and adapt product offerings to maintain competitiveness.
• Team Management
o Recruit, train, and mentor butchery managers and staff across all stores.
o Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and implement staff development plans.
• Financial & Strategic Oversight
o Manage budgets, cost control, and profitability of butchery operations.
o Conduct regular sales analysis and forecasting to support business growth.
o Negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at competitive prices.
• Customer Engagement & Service Excellence
o Ensure exceptional customer service standards across all butchery departments.
o Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve offerings.
o Drive initiatives to increase customer loyalty and repeat business.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Agriculture, or related field
(mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing multiple retail butcheries, including recipe
development.
• Proven management experience overseeing large teams and multiple outlets.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
