Job Summary: The Program Accountant will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day accounting of finances and to support the management of donor funding. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES Bachelor’s degree combined with full professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA) or alternative a master’s degree in finance, Accountancy or equivalent qualification At least 5 years accounting experience Proven experience and ability in the following areas of finance Preparation of monthly and annual accounts to Financial Statements level Preparation of general ledger reconciliation Knowledge of local taxation laws Cash flow forecasting and management. Budgeting experience for multiple cost centres Experience in working with multiple currencies Computer literacy: full working knowledge of MS suite and others. Knowledge of Oxfam Processing & reporting systems & tools Basic knowledge and understanding of general administrative management Previous experience with an NGO, as well as with institutional donors, such as, EC, DFID and UN is of distinct advantage. Skills Good professional presentation, interpersonal skills & a team worker. Ability to work, train & coach staff with differing levels of skills. Initiative, ability to prioritize tasks, work independently multi-task, and work under pressure. Commitment to the aims and objectives of Oxfam. Willingness to travel within the SAF Cluster region.
