Mechanical Fitter

WE ARE HIRING POSITION: MECHANICAL FITTER We are seeking a skilled and energetic Mechanical Fitter to join our team in the food manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure smooth production operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITY Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and systems Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime Troubleshoot mechanical faults and implement corrective actions promptly Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance activities Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and spare parts usage Support continuous improvement initiatives within the plant Perform any other duties as assigned by management PURPOSE OF THE JOB Strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment High level of integrity and commitment to quality work SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES Analytical skills Numerical Skills Computer literate Inter-personal Skills Integrity QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Grade 12 Certificate Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 2 years’ work experience, preferably in the food industry Sober-minded and reliable Extensive knowledge of maintenance planning and execution Energetic, with the ability to work long hours, including weekends and nights.
