Job Description

INSPECTOR – INTERMEDIARIES INSURANCE TWO (2) POSITIONS The Pensions and Insurance Authority (“the Authority”) is the regulatory and supervisory authority for the pensions and insurance industries in Zambia as provided for in the Pension Scheme Regulations Act No. 28 of 1996 (as amended) and the Insurance Act No. 38 of 2021. As part of the organisation expansion, the Authority hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position: Position: Inspector – Intermediaries Insurance Reporting to the Manager Intermediaries-Insurance, the Inspector Intermediaries Insurance will support the risk-based supervision of insurance intermediaries in order to protect insurance policy holders. Specific Duties Undertakes effectively the licensing of insurance intermediaries in order to ensure compliance with the Act. Undertakes effectively the conduct of inspections of intermediaries to ensure an up-to-date risk profile and make appropriate recommendations. Undertakes effectively capacity building programmes for intermediaries in order to enhance their competence and ensure compliance. Undertakes effectively the analysis of quarterly returns, annual returns, audited financial statements and other documentation of intermediaries in order to monitor their performance and viability. Undertakes effectively the assessments of persons with significant influence associated with intermediaries in order to ensure compliance with the law. Undertakes effectively stakeholder partnerships on matters relating to intermediaries in order to enhance supervision and development of the sub sector. Requirements Full Grade 12 certificate or equivalent with credit or better in Mathematics and English. Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/Business Administration/Full CA Zambia or equivalent. At least 4 years relevant experience. Membership to relevant professional institution.
