Electrical Engineer

We are hiring an experienced Electrical Engineer for our projects in Zambia. The ideal candidate should have minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical project execution, erection, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and site management. Candidate should be willing to relocate to Zambia.   Position Title: Electrical Engineer   Experience : 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical / substations projects.   Location: Lusaka, Zambia   Candidate Profile: Mandatory hands-on experience in substation projects up to 130KV. Exposure to relay panels, SCADA systems, and testing activities. Experience in client coordination and contractor management. Knowledge of billing, material management, and project reporting.   Brief Job Description: Responsible for implementation and monitoring of project management activities at site. Supervise and execute all electrical, mechanical, and civil-related works as per project schedule. Carry out erection and commissioning of 33KV lines. Execute installation and commissioning of up to 132KV substations, new substations, and augmentation works. Installation of Equipment’s like Power Transformers, 330kV, 220kV & 132kV Switchgear equipment’s, 33kV & 11kV Switchgear panels, 11kV & 33kV Distribution lines, Automatic Voltage Regulators (10-75kVA), Dynamic/Condenser Microphones, Speakers, Audio Mixers, Metering Equipment’s, Mobile and Satellite phones etc., Designing Knowledge of 33KV, 11K.V. And 440 V Ring Main System. Handle renovation and maintenance of existing substations and electrical systems. Coordinate installation of power transformers, distribution transformers, switchgear equipment, control panels, relay panels, and associated systems. Relay testing & handling of ABB – REF 615, SCHNEIDER & AREVA – P111, VAMP 257, VAMP 265. Relay configuration software’s like micom studio, vampset & PCM 600. Engineering of HT Boards, LT PCCs, LT MCCs, Control Panels, Control Relay Panels, Control Desks. Ensure erection activities are completed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards. Review electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLD), RMU’s, schematics, and layouts before execution. Monitor cable laying, cable termination, earthing, panel alignment, and testing activities. Support installation, pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning of equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, CTs, PTs, isolators, lightning arrestors, capacitor banks, batteries, battery chargers, SCADA systems, and related equipment. Prepare site execution plans, daily progress reports, weekly updates, and status reports. Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams for smooth project execution. Attend client meetings and provide updates on progress, timelines, and technical matters. Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations. Supervise engineers, supervisors, technicians, and workmen at site. Identify and resolve technical as well as site-related issues effectively. Support billing submission, certification follow-up, and payment coordination.
