Clearing & Forwarding Officer

Join Our TeamWe are looking for an experienced Clearing & Forwarding Officer to join our growing team. We are seeking a highly competent professional with practical experience in customs clearing, import and export documentation, and Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) systems. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling the clearance of small vehicles, trucks, commercial cargo, and general imports and exports from start to finish.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess customs declarations using ASYCUDA World.Handle clearance of small vehicles, trucks, and commercial consignments.Prepare and submit import, export, transit, and bonded cargo documentation.Correctly classify goods using HS Codes and determine applicable duties and taxes.Liaise with ZRA Customs, border authorities, transporters, and clients.Coordinate inspections, permits, and release of cargo.Track shipments from arrival to final delivery.Minimize delays, penalties, and demurrage through efficient processing.Maintain accurate clearance records and prepare clearance reports.Ensure full compliance with ZRA Customs regulations and trade requirements.Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 Certificate.Certificate or Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding, Customs Administration, Logistics, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of proven experience in customs clearing and forwarding.Practical experience clearing small cars, trucks, and commercial cargo.Strong working knowledge of ZRA ASYCUDA World.Solid understanding of import, export, transit, and bonded cargo procedures.Good knowledge of customs documentation, permits, and clearance processes.Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.Valid driver's license will be an added advantage.Skills & CompetenciesExcellent attention to detail.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Good communication and client relationship skills.High integrity, professionalism, and accountability.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit:Cover Letter (Indicate salary expectation)Updated CVCopies of academic and professional certificatesAt least two traceable referencesOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
