Accountant / Finance Officer

Job DescriptionLotus Way International School is seeking a reliable and hands-on Accountant / Finance Officer to manage the school’s day-to-day accounting and student-fee operations.The successful candidate must be able to clearly explain school fees and payment arrangements to parents, maintain accurate student accounts, and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, reconciled and reported.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare school-fee quotations, invoices, receipts and student account statements.Explain fees, discounts, payment schedules and outstanding balances clearly to parents.Record and reconcile tuition payments, bank deposits, cash receipts and other income.Monitor outstanding fees and follow up professionally with parents.Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and supporting documents.Assist with payroll, budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and monthly financial reports.Handle or support ZRA, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA and other statutory compliance.Maintain proper financial controls and prepare records for management review and audit.Work closely with the Admissions and Administration teams to ensure accurate student and payment information.RequirementsDiploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.Valid and active ZICA membership.At least three years of practical accounting experience.Previous experience in a private or international school is strongly preferred.Experience working in an international school in Lusaka will be a strong advantage.Good knowledge of Excel and accounting software.Strong attention to detail, integrity and the ability to work independently.Clear and professional communication skills, particularly when dealing with parents.Applicants should provide their CV, copies of relevant qualifications, ZICA membership details, expected salary, availability and at least two professional references.
