We expect all Board members, staff, volunteers and partners to uphold the highest standards of conduct, comply with our Safeguarding Policy, and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive environment free from abuse, exploitation and harm.About Our Zambia National Board The Restless Development Zambia National Board is the governing body of the organisation, providing strategic leadership, oversight and accountability. The Board ensures that the organisation remains focused on its mission, is financially sustainable, operates with integrity, and delivers meaningful impact for young people and communities across Zambia.Board Members serve in a voluntary capacity and ordinarily meet on a quarterly basis, with additional meetings convened where necessary. The Board works closely with the Hub Director and Leadership Team, providing strategic guidance and governance oversight while supporting the effective leadership and long-term sustainability of the organisation. The Zambia National Board is responsible for:Providing strategic leadership by guiding the organisation's strategic direction and supporting the implementation of its strategy and priorities in Zambia.Providing governance oversight by supporting the appointment of the Hub Director, overseeing organisational performance, and ensuring that the organisation operates in line with its values, policies and statutory obligations.Providing financial oversight by reviewing and monitoring the organisation's annual budgets, financial performance, statutory compliance and audited financial statements.Strengthening partnerships and organisational profile by using members' professional networks to support strategic engagement with government, development partners, the private sector and other key stakeholders.Supporting resource mobilisation by opening doors to funding opportunities, providing strategic advice on resource mobilisation, and promoting the long-term sustainability of the organisationTime Commitment Board Members serve on a voluntary basis and are expected to make an active contribution to the governance and strategic direction of Restless Development Zambia. The expected commitment includes:Attending four quarterly Board meetings each year and the Annual Board Away Day, together with any additional meetings convened where necessary.Serving on one of the Board's standing sub-committees, including Programmes and Operations, People, Safeguarding and Governance, or Risk and Audit, and participating in meetings as required.Providing strategic guidance and oversight to the Hub Director and Leadership Team between Board meetings, where appropriate.Supporting the organisation's resource mobilisation efforts by identifying opportunities, making strategic introductions, and promoting the work of Restless Development Zambia.Acting as an ambassador for Restless Development Zambia by upholding the organisation's values and strengthening its profile through personal and professional networks.Representing the organisation at selected meetings, events and stakeholder engagements, where appropriate.Board Members are expected to dedicate sufficient time to prepare for meetings, review Board papers in advance, and actively contribute to discussions and decision-making.Personal SpecificationWe are seeking individuals who are committed to good governance and share Restless Development Zambia's vision of creating opportunities for young people to lead change in their communities.As a Board Member, you will bring strategic thinking, sound judgement, integrity and a willingness to contribute your time, knowledge and experience to support the organisation's long-term success. You will demonstrate the personal qualities that reflect Restless Development's values and be committed to promoting accountability, transparency and ethical leadership.Applicants should have strong professional experience and a good understanding of the Zambian development landscape.
