We offer creative, effective and flexible solutions that not only help individuals discover their career paths but provide organizations with talent they can recruit, develop and retain. About the role:Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead all quantity surveying and commercial functions across construction projects by ensuring accurate cost estimation, contract administration, measurement, valuation, procurement support, financial reporting, and cost control. The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for maximising project profitability while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and company procedures.Key Responsibilities:1. Commercial & Cost ManagementPrepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and cost plans.Develop accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation.Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project delivery.Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections.Monitor project profitability throughout the project lifecycle.2. Contract AdministrationAdminister construction contracts in accordance with contractual requirements.Prepare interim valuations and payment certificates.Evaluate subcontractor applications for payment.Manage contract variations, claims, extensions of time, and final accounts.Resolve commercial disputes and contractual issues where necessary.Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company policies.3. Measurement & ValuationCarry out accurate quantity take-offs and measurements.Verify work completed on site for payment purposes.Prepare valuations for completed works.Maintain accurate measurement records and documentation.Ensure all project quantities are properly recorded and updated.4. Procurement & Subcontract ManagementAssist in procurement planning and tender evaluations.Prepare subcontract documentation and negotiate commercial terms.Monitor subcontractor performance against budgets and contractual obligations.Review supplier quotations and recommend award decisions.Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies.5. Project Cost ControlMonitor project progress against budgets and schedules.Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation measures.Produce regular financial performance reports for management.Monitor variations and ensure they are accurately valued and approved.Maintain accurate forecasting of project costs to completion.6. Leadership & Team ManagementSupervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff.Allocate work and monitor team performance.Support professional development and training of junior staff.Promote teamwork and collaboration across project teams.Conduct performance reviews where applicable.7. Stakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.Attend project meetings and provide commercial advice.Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams on commercial matters.Represent the company professionally during client engagements.8. Compliance, Quality & RiskEnsure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable legislation.Maintain accurate commercial documentation and project records.Participate in audits and quality assurance processes.Promote safe working practices in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.Identify commercial risks and implement appropriate controls.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Professional registration with a recognised Quantity Surveying body is an added advantage.Minimum 10+ years of quantity surveying experience in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or mining projects.Proven experience administering large construction contracts.Experience managing subcontractors and commercial teams.Experience with contract claims, variations, and final accounts.Measurable OutputsEffectively manage on-site contract staffEffectively control all aspects of survey workEffectively manage survey administrationEffectively manage the survey measurement processEffective self managementCompetenciesAttention to detailVerbal and written communicationStress handlingDrive/initiativeRule orientationReliabilityOral communicationPractical managementBuilding relationshipsLeadershipTeam leadershipCoaching and mentoringDecision-makingPerformance managementConflict resolutionCompensation:The incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.To Apply:Please send your CV to careers@talenthousepeople.com  before the  17th of August, 2026.
