The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and driving a strong safety culture across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement, monitor, and maintain occupational health and safety programs.Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation.Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety procedures.Liaise with regulatory authorities and participate in safety audits and inspections.Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.Minimum RequirementsDegree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.Relevant Safety Officer certification/qualification.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a health and safety role.Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.Strong investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Added AdvantageExperience working in the mining industry will be a distinct advantage.Knowledge of mining safety regulations and operational environments will be highly desirable.CompetenciesAttention to detail.Strong leadership and influencing skills.Ability to identify and mitigate workplace risks.Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.High level of integrity and professionalism.How to ApplyInterested candidates who meet the above requirements should submit their CV and certified copies of qualifications to Muwina.Kalumiana@bme.co.za and copy to  Jasper.Miyoba@bme.co.za by 15th August 2026.
