JOB OPPORTUNITIESIssue Date: 23rd July 2026The LUSAKA APEX MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (LAMU) is a privately owned University, accredited by the Higher Education Authority under the Higher Education Amendment Act No. 23 of 2021 to provide Higher Education in Medical Education. LAMU is regulated by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), Nursing & Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ), Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). Lusaka Apex Medical University is therefore looking for mature, proactive, highly motivated and result oriented Zambians with high degree of credibility to fill the following position.1. Senior Lecturer – Physiology Job Purpose To impart knowledge and skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students in order to develop them into doctors and medical professionals.QUALIFICATIONS, RESEARCH AND WORK EXPERIENCEGrade 12 school certificate with at least five credits that must include English language, Mathematics and Scienceor its equivalent.PhD in Physiology, Neuroscience, or related discipline from a reputable and accredited University.Master of Physiology, Neuroscience, or related discipline from a reputable and accredited University.Bachelor of Physiology, MBChB or related field.All academic qualifications and results must be Validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).·        At least five (5) years teaching/research experience at the university or research  institute.·        At least 10 peer- reviewed  publications in recognised outlets in the field of specialisation.·        Valid practicing license from a relevant professional regulatory body.2.  Lecturer - Physiotherapy (3)Qualifications: Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five credits that must include English language and Mathematics or its equivalent.Bachelor of science in Physiotherapy or related field.Masters in Physiotherapy or related field and PhD as added advantage.Certificate in teaching MethodologyAll academic qualifications and results must be Validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).At least three (3) years teaching, research and clinical practice.HPCZ registration, peer-reviewed publications, supervisory experience.3. Lecturer Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy PracticeQualifications:·        Master’s degree in clinical pharmacy and pharmacy Practice or related field·        Bachelor’s degree in pharmacyFull Grade 12 Certificate with at least five credits which includes English language and Mathematics or its equivalent.·        Certificate or Diploma in teaching Methodology·        Valid practising licenceAll academic qualifications and must be Validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).At least three (3)) years teaching and research Experience.4. Software/System Developer To design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable web applications from concept to production using modern web development best practices and high-quality software applications that meet user and university requirements. Key Responsibilities·        Analyse user requirements and translate them into functional technical specifications.·        Design, develop, test, and implement software applications using appropriate programming languages and tools.·        Maintain and enhance existing systems by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary updates.·        Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.·        Build robust backend services, APIs, and data pipelines with Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) and related libraries.·        Develop high-performance server-side applications and real-time features using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript/JavaScript·        Maintain and support institutional systems: Website, KOHA Library, DS pace. ·        Build and customize CMS solutions (WordPress, Canvas LMS). ·        Design, prototype, and test web/mobile applications. ·        Troubleshoot and debug software issues and provide timely resolutions.Required Qualifications and Experience·        Grade 12 certificate with credit in Mathematics and English·        Bachelor’s degree in software development, Computer Science, Information Technology, software engineering, or a related field·        All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).·        Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript. ·         Familiarity with Linux CLI environments. ·         Ability to develop websites from scratch. ·        Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress and Canvas LMS (plugin customization is a plus). ·        Prior exposure to KOHA, D Space, or Moodle will be an advantage.·        At least 3-5 years’ work experience To Apply send your Curriculum Vitae, cover letter and certified copies of your qualifications to:  The Registrar    Lusaka Apex Medical University     P O Box 31909    Kasama Road    Libala South    Lusaka  And/Or  E-mail:  hr@lamu.edu.zmDeadline: 10th August 2026Please Note:Only short-listed and successful candidates will be contacted.
