Job Description

The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization's products, services, and operational processes consistently meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring quality performance, identifying non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct routine quality inspections, testing, and audits of products, services, and operational processes.Monitor compliance with organizational quality standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Identify quality defects, non-conformities, and process deviations, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.Develop and maintain quality control procedures, inspection checklists, and testing protocols.Analyze quality performance data and prepare reports highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.Investigate customer complaints related to quality issues and coordinate timely resolution.Collaborate with production, operations, procurement, engineering, and customer service teams to improve quality performance.Monitor supplier quality and participate in supplier evaluations where applicable.Ensure products and services meet customer specifications before delivery.Conduct root cause analysis for quality incidents and implement corrective action plans.Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.Support internal and external quality audits and regulatory inspections.Promote continuous improvement initiatives using quality management tools and methodologies.Deliver quality awareness training and guidance to employees to strengthen the organization's quality culture.Monitor key quality metrics and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.Participate in risk assessments and quality planning for new products, services, or operational changes.Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards during quality inspections.Perform any other duties assigned by management.QualificationsEducationMaster's Degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or other recognized quality management certifications will be an added advantage.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in quality control, quality assurance, manufacturing, operations, engineering, or a related field.Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring quality management systems.Proven experience conducting quality inspections, audits, and root cause analyses.Experience working with ISO standards, quality improvement methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements.Experience using quality management tools, statistical analysis, and reporting systems.Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of quality management systems and quality control principles.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong understanding of ISO 9001, quality standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.Experience with root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) methodologies.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement techniques.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent report writing and documentation skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and quality assessments objectively.Good project management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.Ability to analyze quality metrics and recommend process improvements.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Product and service quality compliance rate.Number of quality defects and non-conformities.First-pass quality yield.Customer complaints related to quality.Corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closure rate.Internal and external audit performance.Supplier quality performance.Inspection accuracy and timeliness.Reduction in rework, waste, and defects.Compliance with regulatory and organizational quality standards.Continuous improvement initiatives successfully implemented.Achievement of departmental quality objectives.
