About the role:Our client is looking for a Regional Service Engineer who owns technical operations performance within the assigned region and is responsible for ensuring high hub uptime, strong pack health, rapid fault resolution, and adherence to operational standards. The RSE acts as the first level of technical leadership within the region, coordinating Field Service Engineers (FSEs), supporting preventive maintenance activities, and ensuring operational issues are proactively identified and resolved before they impact customers. Success in this role is measured through uptime performance, pack availability, preventive maintenance execution, and operational reliability across the assigned hubs.AccountabilitiesOwn and maintain regional hub uptime targets through proactive monitoring and interventionEnsure high pack health and charging availability across all hubs in the regionDrive rapid fault resolution and minimize downtimeEnsure compliance with SOPs, HSE requirements, and quality standardsSupport hub upgrades, commissioning activities, and operational scaling initiativesKey Responsibilities:The Regional Service Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Hub Monitoring & Uptime Management (30%)Monitor hub energy performance and charging availability across assigned locationsIdentify and escalate hubs approaching overcapacity thresholds (>80%)Proactively prevent downtime through monitoring, troubleshooting, and intervention planningMonitor swap trends, PV performance, and charging throughput across all hubsEnsure hub connectivity and controller communication are functioning properlyTrack and improve pack availability across assigned regionsTroubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance (30%)Diagnose and resolve technical faults affecting:Smart chargersHC3 systemsBattery packsBESSPV systemsConduct scheduled preventive maintenance activities on all energy systemsPerform on-site troubleshooting and repairs requiring physical interventionSupport root cause analysis for recurring technical issuesMaintain accurate maintenance and repair recordsTeam Coordination & Leadership (20%)Coordinate and support Field Service Engineers (FSEs) within assigned regionsConduct technical coaching and field guidance for FSEs and internsSupport adherence to SOPs, HSE standards, and operational proceduresParticipate in weekly operational planning and review meetingsConduct regular 1-on-1 engagements with FSEs and technical interns Reporting & Escalation Management (10%)Document, track, and escalate technical issues appropriatelyProvide daily updates on hubs experiencing technical issuesSubmit weekly reports on regional hub health and operational performanceGenerate monthly regional technical status reports using DDD structureTrack hubs requiring upgrades, waitlisting, or capacity interventionInventory & Asset Management (10%)Support tracking and accountability of technical inventoryEnsure availability of required operational tools and materialsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)99.9% Energy Uptime 98% Pack Health - which means that no more than 2% of packs should be in a defective state at any point in time.95% Charger Health Key Working RelationshipsThe Regional Service Engineer will work closely with:Regional CoordinatorRegional Tech Operations LeadIn-Country Quality LeadField Service Engineers (FSEs)Commissioning EngineersProduct & Engineering TeamsSupply Chain & Warehouse TeamsHub Managers / Jaza StarsMinimum Qualifications/ Traits:Educational BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electronics, or related technical disciplineTechnical Proficiency5+ years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical or renewable energy systemsExperience working with:Battery systemsSolar PV systemsPower electronicsCharging infrastructureHands-On ExperienceProven experience managing technical operations and uptime in field environmentsExperience with preventive maintenance and field troubleshootingData-Driven MindsetStrong analytical and reporting capabilityAbility to interpret operational trends and performance dataProblem-Solving SkillsAbility to diagnose complex technical issues and implement timely solutionsStrong root cause analysis capabilityCommunication SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to coordinate across field teams and stakeholdersLeadership & InitiativeSelf-motivated with strong ownership mindsetAbility to coach and guide field teams effectivelyWhy You Should ApplyBe part of the most exciting growth phase of a company.
