Job Description

1.      ROLE IDENTIFICATION Job Title:  BOOK KEEPER 2.      JOB PURPOSE To maintain accurate financial records, process financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and support the organization's financial operations in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. 3.      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system. Maintain general ledgers, journals, and cashbooks. File and safeguard financial documents and records. Process supplier invoices and payments. Prepare and issue customer invoices. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments. Reconcile supplier statements and customer accounts. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations. Monitor cash flow and petty cash transactions. Prepare cash flow reports as required. Assist in payroll preparation and processing. Ensure accurate recording of salaries, statutory deductions, and employee benefits. Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation. Prepare monthly financial summaries and reports. Assist in the preparation of management accounts. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Provide financial information to management when required. Assist with preparation of documents for internal and external audits. Maintain proper filing systems for financial records. Assist with procurement and inventory record management. Perform any other duties assigned by management. 4.NATURE OF DECISION MAKING a)     Strategicb)    Financialc)     Analytical ·        5. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum  Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels with credit or better in Mathematics and English. ·        Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field. 6.EXPERIENCE: Minimum. of 2 years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS· High level of accuracy and attention to detail. · Good organizational and time-management skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. · Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.· Strong numerical and analytical skills.
