VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTBusiness Development Officer (BDO)Location: Lusaka, ZambiaEmployment Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and strategic Business Development Officer (BDO) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving business growth through the identification and pursuit of new market opportunities, development of innovative products and services, management of tender and proposal processes, and fostering strategic partnerships.This position requires a proactive professional with strong business acumen, excellent proposal writing skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments to secure new business opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth and Market DevelopmentIdentify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and clients.Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and business opportunities.Develop and recommend new products and service offerings aligned with market needs.Build and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities.Tender and Proposal ManagementMonitor and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and tender opportunities.Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality proposals, bids, and tender responses.Gather technical, operational, and financial information from relevant departments to support bid submissions.Develop compelling technical and financial proposals that meet client requirements and organizational objectives.Ensure all submissions are completed accurately and within prescribed deadlines.Stakeholder and Client EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.Identify and establish strategic partnerships and collaborations that enhance business opportunities.Support client presentations, negotiations, and contract initiation processes.Generate repeat business through effective client relationship management.Proposal and Knowledge ManagementMaintain an up-to-date repository of company profiles, credentials, proposal templates, and standard bid content.Track tender outcomes and provide management with regular reports on business development activities and success rates.Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum RequirementsGrade 12 School Certificate.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, Public Relations, Commerce, or a related field.Valid Driver's Licence.Proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, tender management, or a related role will be an added advantage.Required CompetenciesStrong proposal and report writing skills.Excellent communication and presentation abilities.Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple deadlines.Excellent analytical and market research capabilities.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and under pressure.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.What We OfferOpportunity to contribute to strategic business growth.Dynamic and collaborative work environment.Professional development and career growth opportunities.Competitive remuneration package.Application ProcessInterested candidates who meet the above requirements are invited to submit their application letter, detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), and certified copies of relevant qualifications.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are committed to promoting diversity and equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants.
