MINING ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEWA leading limestone mining and lime processing company based in Lusaka, Zambia, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced, and results-oriented Mining Engineer to join its operations team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPlan, design, and supervise limestone mining operations to ensure safe and efficient extraction. Develop short-term and long-term mine plans in line with production targets. Monitor mining activities and optimize productivity, equipment utilization, and operational costs. Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies. Conduct geological and mining assessments to support reserve management and mine development. Prepare production reports, budgets, and operational forecasts. Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, and haulage activities. Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure adherence to statutory requirements. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the mining operation.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution. Registered with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and the Engineering Registration Board (ERB). Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in limestone mining operations. Strong knowledge of open-pit mining methods, mine planning, and quarry management. Sound understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
