Assistant Accountant

Chibanje Chemicals and Engineering Ltd is a construction chemicals and equipment manufacturing company based in Kafue. We manufacture tile fix, paints, roofing sheets, grouts, varnish, spirit of salt, anti-termites among other construction and home care products.As accounting technician you will handles the hands-on, practical aspects of financial operations. You assist in maintaining accurate ledger records, processing daily transactions, and preparing preliminary financial reports. Your work will be essential for the efficiency and daily compliance of a company's accounting department.Core Duties & Responsibilities1.    Bookkeeping: Record daily financial transactions, including income, expenditures, and receipts, into accounting systems.2.    Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process, verify, and pay invoices, as well as generate customer bills, issue receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances.3.    Reconciliations: Perform regular bank, credit card, and vendor account reconciliations to ensure ledger accuracy4.    Payroll Processing: Gather data, calculate wages, and help manage payroll documentation.5.    Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT, corporate tax, and statutory returns6.    Reporting & Support: Help compile data for month-end and year-end closing, budget preparations, and financial statements.Key Qualifications & Skills1.    Education: A Diploma, Associate's degree, or relevant certification (e.g., ZICA Technician, AAT, CAT, or ACCA FIA).2.    Technical Proficiency: High competence in using accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.3.    Attention to Detail: A high degree of accuracy for data entry and identifying financial discrepancies.4.    Math & Analytical Skills: Strong numerical aptitude to balance accounts and calculate figures.5.    Organizational Skills: Ability to manage deadlines for routine tasks, reports, and tax submissionsIf you meet the above criteria, please send you application and CV to william@chibanje.com
