SDIL does not practice discrimination on any grounds, unless the governing law of the land has specific provision for differential treatment. 1.      QUANTITY SURVEYORA Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost planning, contract management, and financial control of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget, on time, and to quality standards. The role requires registration with the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS) and strong expertise in project valuation and risk management. Core ResponsibilitiesCost estimation: Review architectural and engineering plans to calculate material quantities and costs.Budget management: Set and monitor budgets for payments, inventory, and materials.Contract administration: Prepare contracts, tender documents, and manage procurement processes.Risk analysis: Identify potential financial or construction risks and propose mitigation strategies.Project valuation: Conduct interim valuations, final accounts, and ensure value-for-money delivery.Stakeholder negotiation: Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.Progress reporting: Document project progress, materials usage, and financial updates.Core Skills: Communication, cost control, preparation of bills of quantities, and management of contracts. QUALIFICATIONS1.    Full Grade 12 certificate2.    A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Construction Economics, or Construction Management, or equivalent3.    Minimum 5 years’ experience and managing projects4.    Membership to Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS)2.        LAND SURVEYORJob Summary:The Land Surveyor is responsible for measuring and mapping land boundaries, features, and contours to support construction, engineering, and land development projects. They will have to use specialized equipment and software to collect accurate data and ensure legal property boundaries are correctly defined.Key Responsibilities:Conduct land and topographic surveys to determine property boundaries and land featuresUse surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, and levelsPrepare survey reports, maps, plats, and legal descriptionsAnalyse data using CAD software to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulationsCollaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teamsSet out construction works (buildings, roads, infrastructure) according to design plansMaintain records of survey data and field notesEnsure all work complies with local laws and safety standardsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering with an option of Surveying Proficiency in surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS tools)Strong mathematical and analytical skillsAbility to operate modern surveying instrumentsGood communication and teamwork skillsMinimum 5 years experience in field and office surveyingNeeds to be available to start work urgently and must be a resident of Lusaka.HOW TO APPLYApplicants who meet the above qualifications and experience are invited to submit an application letter and Curriculum Vitae, together with ZAQA-verified copies of their academic and professional qualifications.
