Our operations in Zambia focus on responsible sourcing, trading, and recycling solutions that contribute to the circular economy while meeting the highest environmental and regulatory standards.We are looking for a proactive, results-oriented Problem Solver to represent our company before Zambian government institutions and ensure smooth, compliant operations.Role OverviewAs our Government Relations and Regulatory Representative, you will act as the key point of contact between Metal-Grid.com and relevant authorities. You will solve operational challenges, navigate regulatory requirements, and build strong institutional relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent the company before government bodies, including:ZEMA (Zambia Environmental Management Agency)Zambia Customs ServicesMinistry of Mines and Minerals DevelopmentOther relevant ministries, agencies, and local authoritiesHandle licensing, permits, compliance approvals, and regulatory documentationMonitor and interpret relevant laws, policies, and regulations affecting our trade and recycling operationsProactively identify and resolve regulatory or bureaucratic bottlenecksLiaise with internal teams to ensure all operations remain fully compliantBuild and maintain excellent working relationships with key officials and stakeholdersIdeal Candidate ProfileStrong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-oriented mindsetLegal background or experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, or compliance is highly preferred but not mandatoryGood understanding of Zambian regulatory environment (especially environment, mining, trade, and customs)Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and deliver results under pressureProfessional appearance and high integrityBased in Lusaka or willing to operate from LusakaExperience in minerals, metals, scrap trading, or recycling sectors will be an added advantage.What We OfferFlexible working arrangement (full-time, part-time, or on-call/retainer)Competitive remuneration packageDirect impact on business operations and growth in ZambiaProfessional development opportunitiesHow to ApplyInterested candidates should send their CV and a short cover note (explaining why you are a good fit for this “problem solver” role) to:minerals@metal-grid.com Please indicate your availability (full-time / part-time / on-call) and expected monthly retainer or salary in your application.
