Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Occupational Health & Safety Officer to join our HR & Administration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and health-conscious working environment across all operations. This role involves developing safety systems, enforcing compliance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, implement, and continuously improve Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) policies and procedures. Provide guidance on workplace safety issues including machinery use, hazardous materials, and environmental risks. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement preventative safety measures. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company standards. Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees and management. Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify hazards and non-compliance issues. Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety standards. Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials and equipment. Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses and prepare detailed reports. Maintain accurate safety records and provide statistical reports to management. Stop and report unsafe acts or processes immediately when identified. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field. NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is an added advantage. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a safety-related role (preferred). Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations. Excellent communication and training skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
