CUSTOMS CLEARANCE MANAGER

JOB DETAILS:Role OverviewSunline International Logistics Zambia is seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Manager to lead all customs-related activities, including bonded warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of hands-on experience in customs clearance within a logistics setting, with deep expertise in bonded warehouse procedures, import/export regulations and compliance standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely and accurate clearance of all import and export shipments.Manage and verify customs documentation: invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc.Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders and regulatory bodies to resolve clearance issues.Working hand in hand with the bonded warehouse manager and ensuring full compliance with customs regulations.Monitor changes in customs laws and regulations, advising the business on implications.Collaborate with internal departments (Operations, Warehousing, Logistics and Administration) to streamline clearance procedures.Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and ensure audit readiness.Develop and implement SOPs for customs and bonded warehouse operations.Train and supervise customs clearance staff to ensure high performance and regulatory compliance.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Clearing and Forwarding or a related field.Minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in customs clearance within a transport and logistics company.Proven experience managing a bonded warehouse and understanding its regulatory framework.Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, HS codes and customs software systems (e.g., ASYCUDA).Familiarity with local and international customs regulations and trade compliance.Excellent communication skills for engaging with government agencies and stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple shipments under pressure.Mandatory: Practicing Certification in Customs or Logistics.Skills & CompetenciesShipping & Logistics Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Proactive problem-solving mindset.Proficiency in customs clearance platforms.Strong leadership and team management capabilities.High level of integrity and commitment to regulatory compliance.Interested candidates should send their application letters with their credentials to: hr.zam@sun-line.cnNote: Sunline International Logistics Zambia does not request any payment for recruitment.
