Job Description

To oversee and coordinate all feed shed, warehouse and lake-based feed operations to ensure accurate receiving, safe storage, efficient issuance, and proper documentation of feed. The role ensures stock integrity, adherence to quality and safety standards, and the effective supervision of warehouse staff to support uninterrupted production and distribution. Additionally, the role involves managing the inventory of Lake Operations materials stored on land, ensuring accurate tracking and stock integrity.Key Responsibilities & Critical Success MeasuresWarehouse Operations Management:Coordinate daily receiving, storage, and issuance of feed in line with production and distributionschedules.Ensures safety stock levels are maintained as per company strategy. In close collaboration with thelake operations team.Maintain proper feed rotation (FIFO/FEFO) to avoid spoilage or quality deterioration.Ensure all stock movements are accurately captured in the warehouse management system.Conduct routine checks to confirm correct stacking, segregation, and labelling of feed.Ensure good warehouse practices such as cleaning, pest control and access control are in place.Lake Feed MovementEnsures that sufficient feed is moved daily from land to lake and from lake storehouses to feed platformsAccurate records of inventory in all bargesEnsures that staffing levels are managed/balanced and that there is full accountability for the actions of the staff moving feed both at the harbour and on the lakeNo instances where poor performance is acceptable, underperformance, or ill discipline must be followed through by enforcing the appropriate disciplinary procedureStock Control & ReportingPerform daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliations.Investigate and resolve variances in coordination with Finance and Production teams.Generate and submit regular stock reports reflecting consumptions, balances, and trends.Monitor and report slow-moving, damaged, expired, or at-risk stock.InventorizeCoordination & Communication Liaise with Production, Logistics service provider, feed suppliers, and Quality teams to ensure smooth operations. Communicate daily feed issuance plans and stock availability updates. Support operational planning by providing accurate inventory and consumption data.EducationDegree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Agriculture, or a related fieldFull grade 12 certificateSkillsAbility to handle multiple tasks in day-to-day operations, Good organisational skills and strong leadership capacity Ability to manage, coordinate and communicate dailyAbility to plan and direct large-scale diversified farm activities, to supervise large groups of farm workers in farm activities and to direct skilled and unskilled employees in varied farm operationsAbility to keep records of time, production, and costs, and to make reports and recommendations for improvement in methods and equipment.Advanced computer literacyNumerical aptitudeExperience3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, warehousing, stock management and logistics. An aquaculture farming background would be a plus
