Job SummaryWe are seeking a committed and socially aware Social Safeguards Officer to ensure that all projects are implemented in a socially responsible manner. The role involves managing social risks, engaging with communities, and ensuring compliance with social safeguard policies and standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and monitor social impacts of projects and operationsDevelop and implement Social Management Plans (SMPs)Conduct social impact assessments and baseline studiesEngage with local communities, stakeholders, and vulnerable groupsAddress community concerns, grievances, and conflicts effectivelyEnsure compliance with national and international social safeguard standardsSupport resettlement planning and livelihood restoration where applicablePrepare social safeguard reports and documentationPromote inclusive participation and stakeholder engagementMonitor labor practices and ensure ethical standards are upheldMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Human Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related social science fieldMinimum of 5 years relevant work experienceExperience in social impact assessments and community engagementStrong understanding of social safeguard policies and frameworksExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skillsAbility to work with diverse communities and stakeholdersKey CompetenciesStakeholder engagement and community relationsConflict resolution and grievance handlingSocial risk assessmentStrong report writing and documentation skillsCultural sensitivity and adaptabilityHow to ApplyKindly note that we are looking for someone with a minimum of a degree in the described positionInterested candidates should send their CV and cover letter to: jobs@mctechz.comNote: You are required to merge the documents into one fileDeadline: 29/04/2026 3:00 PM
