Poultry Manager

Nkhuni Farm is a growing commercial poultry operation focused on egg production for the Zambian market. We are seeking a highly experienced and disciplined Poultry Manager (Layers) to take full responsibility for managing and optimizing our layer operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all daily layer operations including feeding, production, and bird welfareDrive egg production efficiency, quality, and consistencyMonitor and manage key performance indicators (mortality, feed intake, laying rate)Enforce strict biosecurity and vaccination programsSupervise and manage farm staff with discipline and accountabilityControl feed usage, reduce wastage, and manage stock levelsMaintain accurate production records and reporting systemsEnsure all farm systems, procedures, and standards are consistently followedRequirementsMinimum 5–10 years’ experience in commercial layer farm managementProven experience managing large-scale layer operations (high bird capacity)Strong leadership and team management skillsDeep understanding of layer performance, nutrition, and health managementExperience working in structured, performance-driven environmentsAbility to operate independently with minimal supervisionStrong reporting, planning, and organizational skillsMust be willing and able to reside on-site at a remote, off-grid farm locationComfortable staying on the farm for extended periods with limited access to urban amenitiesAble to work in a hands-on, demanding environment with long hours when required
