Job Description
The Business Development Intern will support the growth and market expansion of Oro STAR Consultancy Services by assisting in the development and execution of marketing strategies, client acquisition processes, and business development initiatives across all service clusters. The role is designed to build a strong pipeline of institutional clients through structured market mapping, relationship building, and conversion-focused engagement.The intern will work closely with senior leadership to translate OSCS’s service offerings into market opportunities, ensuring that the firm achieves visibility, client acquisition, and revenue growth in both local and international markets.The Business Development Intern will be responsible for the following:Support the development and implementation of marketing strategies for all OSCS service clustersConduct market research, competitor analysis, and sector scanning to identify opportunitiesMap and segment potential clients across government, NGOs, INGOs, donors, private sector, and development agenciesDevelop, update, and maintain a structured client database and CRM systemIdentify key decision-makers and institutional focal persons within target organizationsConduct telemarketing and structured outreach for lead generation and client conversionFollow up on leads via phone calls, emails, and digital communication platformsSchedule and coordinate client meetings, presentations, and engagement sessionsPrepare PowerPoint presentations, pitch decks, and marketing materials for business development activitiesSupport senior consultants during client meetings, workshops, and proposal presentationsDeliver introductory presentations on OSCS services when requiredAssist in proposal writing, documentation, and submission processesSupport promotion and marketing of team building and organizational development services, including:Mapping organizations with leadership, cohesion, and performance gapsSupporting the design and promotion of team building interventionsAssisting in organizing workshops, retreats, and experiential learning sessionsDocumenting outcomes, lessons learned, and success stories from interventionsSupport visibility and positioning of all OSCS service clusters in local and global marketsMaintain accurate records of all client interactions, leads, follow-ups, and conversionsContribute to continuous improvement of marketing systems and client engagement processesLEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIESThe role provides structured exposure to:Strategic marketing and global consulting business development systemsDonor, NGO, government, and private sector engagement processesProposal development and resource mobilization systemsCRM-based client management and sales pipelinesMulti-sector consulting operationsMarketing of technical services including team building, leadership development, and organizational transformationHigh-level client engagement, pitching, and negotiation processesReal-world consulting and development project environmentsSKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIREDDegree or Diploma in Marketing and Sale/Business AdministrationStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent presentation and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to conduct research and analyze market informationConfidence in engaging institutional and corporate clientsStrong organizational and follow-up disciplineBasic understanding of marketing, sales, and business development principlesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Familiarity with CRM tools (added advantage)Ability to support facilitation of team building and organizational development activitiesAnalytical thinking and problem-solving capabilityPERSONAL ATTRIBUTESProactive, self-driven, and results-orientedStrong networking SkillsApplication ProcedureSend applications to esakala64@gmail.com
