Accountant

Chesco Tech is seeking a skilled, experienced, and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting business decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis.This role is ideal for a proactive professional who can maintain strong financial controls while contributing to the company’s growth and efficiency.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial OperationsManage all accounting transactions and maintain the general ledger Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers Conduct regular bank reconciliations and manage petty cash Ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping Reporting & AnalysisPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Assist in financial analysis and performance tracking Support budget preparation and monitor actual vs budget performance Compliance & Statutory ObligationsEnsure timely and accurate filing of statutory returns with: Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) NAPSA NHIMA Maintain proper documentation for audits and regulatory requirements Audit & ControlsAssist with internal and external audits Maintain strong internal controls and compliance procedures Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data General DutiesSupport management with financial insights where required Perform any other duties as assigned by Management  QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSPart or full professional qualification (BA ACCOUNTANCY, ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE, ZICA, ACCA, CIMA)A paid up member of ZICA Minimum 1–2 years proven experience as an Accountant Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, ERP systems) is an advantage Valid Driver’s License  KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIESStrong financial analysis and reporting skills Excellent knowledge of Zambian tax and compliance regulations Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills High attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines High level of integrity and professionalism 🚀 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORWe are looking for someone who:Is reliable and detail-oriented Can take ownership of financial processes Is proactive in identifying issues and solutions Can support a fast-growing tech-driven business
