J&J Transport Zambia Limited is growing and seeking experienced, committed, and proactive professional to join our dynamic team in Ndola. Position Summary The Workshop Foreman is responsible for supervising, leading, training assisting, and reviewing the work of mechanics responsible including inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing mechanical defects on the fleet. Key Responsibilities – not limited to: 1. Supervise workshop staff and allocate work to ensure productivity, efficiency, and timely completion of maintenance and repair activities. 2. Ensure preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs are carried out on trucks, heavy equipment, and light vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications. 3. Coordinate with Operations and Stores departments to ensure spare parts are available and maintenance activities are planned effectively. 4. Monitor fleet condition and performance to minimize breakdowns and maximize vehicle availability. 5. Manage breakdown response activities, ensuring timely repairs, proper documentation, and analysis of breakdown causes. [wp_code title="Fluid Ad"] 6. Verify vehicle inspections, repair quality, and dispatch processes to ensure all reported defects are rectified before release. 7. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc operational reports. 8. Promote and enforce compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) standards, ensuring a safe workplace and proper use of PPE. Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechanics, or related field from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an international transport or logistics company. Age: 35 years and above. Skills: Proactive problem-solving, initiative-driven, and adaptable to dynamic work environments. Availability: Willingness to work weekends and rotational public holidays as needed. Professional Membership: Valid practicing certificate and membership with relevant bodies (EIZ) Personal Attributes: Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and technical orientation Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
