Information Technology Assistant – (Fixed Term Contract) Department IT Services Location Head Office – Support Functions Duration Fixed Term Contract Application Deadline Apply by April 26, 2026 Position Overview Zanaco Bank Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Information Technology Division under the IT Services at Head Office – Support Functions: Role Description A rotational, entry-level position within the bank’s Information Technology department. The trainee provides hands-on operational support and technical assistance across various IT departments (e.g Innovation, operations, security). Key activities include system monitoring, basic troubleshooting, assisting with software testing, project support and documentation, and enforcing IT policies [wp_code title="Fluid Ad"] Requirements The Graduate Trainee will rotate through different teams within the IT department and will be tasked with supporting their functions. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: System Support & Operations: Assisting in the monitoring and maintenance of the bank’s IT systems, applications, and networks. Providing first-level technical support to internal users and escalating issues as necessary. Participating in routine operational tasks such as system backups and health checks. Software Development & Analysis: Supporting the design, coding, and testing of new software features or internal tools. Assisting business analysts in gathering and documenting user requirements for IT projects. Learning and applying standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) Cybersecurity & Risk: Aiding the security team in monitoring for security breaches and analyzing security logs. Participating in security awareness initiatives and the enforcement of IT policies. Assisting with vulnerability assessments and risk management documentation. Project Participation: Contributing to various IT projects, assisting with documentation, coordination, and tracking of project milestones. Conducting research on new technologies and industry best practices. Learning & Development: Actively participating in all scheduled training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs. Nill Indirect Subordinates: INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT External: Local Regulators on statutory matters Internal: All Divisions DECISION MAKING Autonomous Decisions: Non Autonomous Decisions : [wp_code title="Fluid Ad"] QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE Education: Minimum 5 credits and above at Grade 12 including Mathematics and English Degree in a relevant IT related field Graduated with a Credit or better Graduated within the last two (2) years from a reputable local University Competencies and Personal Attributes: Excellent & Effective Communication, Research, Presentation and Reporting skills.
